Lovin’ the Run: Top Santeeans at Coronado Valentine’s 10K
The race began and finished at Tidelands Park with the San Diego-Coronado Bridge looming in the background on a cool overcast day with occasional drizzles.

Melissa Fischer was the first of more than twenty Santee finishers Sunday morning in the Coronado Valentine’s 10-kilometer run.
The race began and finished at Tidelands Park with the San Diego-Coronado Bridge looming in the background on a cool overcast day with occasional drizzles.
But the morning was brightened by the many couples entered in the 6.2-mile run in their own "couple's" category.
Fischer, 28, finished 59 overall in the field of more than 1,200, averaging 6:20 miles in her final time of 39 minutes, 31 seconds.
The oldest Santee finisher was Judy Benaderet, 71, who finished in 1:52:42, and the youngest was Deverin Smith, 8, 01:27:31.
The top finishers were Scott Bauhs, 25, of Mammoth Lakes, clocking 29:42, and Angela Bizzarri, 23, of San Diego, finishing in 33:31. Complete results are here.
