Santee Farmers Market happens every Wed. from 3-6 p.m.

It's Farmers Market day in Santee and the weather is fine- no, make that perfect for a stroll past the produce stands.

Attached to this piece you'll find a photo gallery of last week's time at the market. We got more homegrown eggs, dried fruit, citrus, and some food to eat along the way and missed some regular vendors that we're told will be back this week.

The blood oranges looked and tasted amazing for the second week in a row. Chelsea went a bit crazy with the blood orange concept and made some blood orange creme brulée- which was a bit harder than she thought- the citrus kind of curdled the cream, but tasty nonetheless.

We tried Power Juice Up, a new smoothie vendor at the market. They make a "Go Green" smoothie with kale, spinach, broccoli, apple juice, ginger, cucumber, banana and flax seed oil that picks up your energy real quick and can be stored for at least a week in the fridge.

And we finished off our hunger with a veggie and a carne asada quesadilla from Tommy's Mexican Food. There weren't many vendors selling prepared food to eat at the market last week, I hope they return this week.

Off we go to this week's market- we'll let you know what we find!
