Where Is Councilman Ryan? Council Asked to Extend Absence Through May

This week the council will look get the lowdown on what Santee can afford in the future.

The next meeting of the City Council begins at 7 p.m. April 10, 2013:

Extension of Excuse of Absence for John Ryan

Councilmember John Ryan has been absent from council meetings since around the turn of the year. Council voted to excuse his absence through March 2013, and they will be given the option to extend that excuse through May. The reason for his absence has not been revealed.

Report on Future City Budgets

In the previous couple meetings the council has heard updates on Firefighter and Sheriff staffing as related to the city budget and possible cuts. This meeting will review organizational adjustments to the city in the past few years due to budget cuts and key factors that could affect the next two budgets.

Wrapping Up Fanita Ranch

The 2,600-acre housing development that was proposed for undeveloped land in the north of Santee got through certain environmental review and city approval processes before being finally shutdown in court in 2012. As part of that court decision, the city must set aside any ordinances or resolutions concerning the Fanita Ranch project.
