Three Arrested in Stabbing Near Mast Park

Details are emerging about the stabbing outside an apartment complex near Mast Park on Friday.

Two juveniles and one adult were arrested after  incident near Mast Park, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said in a report obtained on Monday.

Two young males were stabbed after a reported disturbance near on Friday night at about 8 p.m., Lieutenant Jim Duffy said.

The suspects fled into the park as deputies searched the area. City paramedics and firefighters responded to treat the victims at Stoyer Road and Carlton Hills Boulevard, said Richard Mattock, Santee Deputy .

Two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon likely to cause great bodily injury. The weapon was described only as a "lethal cutting instrument" in the report, according to the report.

Those suspected in the incident were arrested at Carlton Oaks Drive around 9 p.m. that same evening.

The juveniles names were not released because of their age. Christopher Acevez 19, was also arrested and booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego, according to the report. He has since been released.

One of the victims, 19, was still hospitalized on Monday morning with injuries described as "severe."

The other victim, 18, was stabbed three times. He was walking with the assistance of canes when briefly interviewed outside the Santee station on Monday morning. He said that he did nothing to provoke the attack that occurred in an apartment complex on the 9300 block of Carlton Oaks Drive, as they were leaving, he said. 

He also said he is seeking a restraining order against one of the parties involved because they won't leave him alone.

In a message sent to Santee Patch, a woman who said she is the mother of one of the juveniles involved in "this terrible crime" mentions a group who refer to themselves as the "Scum Click [sic] Gang" as being involved in this attack.

Inquiries about the incident were referred to a sergeant with the East County Regional Gangs Task Force who did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
