What you need to know in Santee today.

1. City Council Meeting- 7 p.m., Thursday at Santee City Hall (10601 Magnolia Avenue) Items on the meeting agenda include a permit exemption for Riverview Church to hold services at the old Lacey J's building. Download the meeting agenda here.

2. Santee Senior Group- 9 a.m., July 24, Santee City Hall (10601 Magnolia Avenue, Building 8A)

Active older adults will meet at City Hall Wednesday for fitness, a speaker about avoiding scams and more. "Enjoy the company of others, make new friends and be part of the fun." No need to register or RSVP.

3. Celebrate Drive-Thru Day- For better or worse, Santee is chock full of places to grab a bite without leaving your car. Get your taco in the car fix at Cazadores, Chick-Fil-A is the most recent drive-thru to pop up in town, you can even get coffee in the car at Coffee Corner and Lean Bean, and Sonic offers a classic take on the drive-thru, more of a drive up.

What's your favorite drive-thru in town?

5. Santee's Manzanita Brewing Company Switches Brewmasters- Matt Patterson has taken over for Garry Pittman, who helped found the Prospect Avenue brewery. I wonder if we'll see a different beer vibe coming from Santee's best known brewery?
