Sportsplex USA Has Donated $6,520 to the Santee School District Foundation

On Wednesday, February 6, Sportsplex USA will present a check to the Santee School District Foundation in the amount of $6,520 to commemorate the total donation amount that Sportsplex USA has given the Foundation since January of 2012.

Sportsplex USA’s President Bill Berghoff will present the check to the Santee School District Foundation President Mike Clinkenbeard on Wednesday February 6 at 3:30pm at Sportsplex USA Santee located at 9951 Riverwalk Drive, Santee CA.

Bill Berghoff commented on the program saying “Our goal is to provide quality recreational sports programs for the children of Santee.  We could not be happier with the success of the program and look forward to donating much-needed funds back to the Santee School District Foundation.”

Said Mr.  Clinkenbeard, “Sportsplex USA’s generous donation back to the foundation has helped our annual fundraising significantly.  The comments we have received back from parents has been great!  The community loves the youth soccer program at Sportsplex USA.”

Last year, Sportsplex USA and the Santee School District Foundation (SSDF) created a partnership with the goal of offering affordable recreational youth indoor soccer programs to all parents and children in Santee.  The program was a phenomenal success with nearly 150 children registering in the first season.  Since the inception of the program, Sportsplex USA has grown the program to over 200 children who registered for the winter 2013 season which began on January 26, 2013.

In December of 2011, Sportsplex USA reached out to the Santee School District Foundation in an effort to create a youth indoor soccer program and develop a fundraising campaign for the Foundation.  In today’s economic climate, fundraising efforts for school foundations are critical and difficult to maintain. With the support of the foundation and it’s board, Sportsplex USA offered to donate $10 per child registration back to the SSDF.  The youth soccer league is offered three times per year with 8-week seasons beginning in January, March and September.

The recreational, coed league is designed for boys and girls age 5-12. The concept of the program is to provide all children equal playing time, regardless of skill.  The program is affordable for parents priced at $74 per child before the registration deadline.  Each team is coached by a volunteer and has one 1-hour after-school practice during the week. There are no playoffs and every player receives a league jersey and participation award. Sportsplex USA has committed to make the same donation of $10 per child back to the SSDF for the duration of this program.  The next league is scheduled to start on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

All parents interested in learning more about Sportsplex USA Recreational Youth Indoor Soccer are encouraged to visit www.sportsplexusa.com (Click Santee) or call Indoor Soccer Director Zach Koch at 619-334-1000 x318.

I think the communities, Santee here, should band together and raise that money for schoolRead More supplies, instead of the teachers. I for one would throw in the first $100. I think between the residents and the local businesses we could raise the $10,000 to $15,000 that I am guessing would be needed. In Scripps Ranch, where both my kids attended school, the parents banded together and covered a HALF A MILLION shortfall in no time about 9 years ago during the cuts. And you don't have to have kids in school now to contribute. I don't anymore,BUT GOOD PUBLIC education with the right tools BENEFITS ALL AND THE FUTURE OF AMERICA MOST OF ALL. So I am first.

this is why the battlefield has changed temporarily from the political arena to the Energy Arena.Read More Co Gen Tricks and the usual suspects are making their big money bet on two inevitable facts that will force the hand of the CPUC and CEC to place a new gas power plant somewhere in the area. 1) the Electric Vehicle Mandate. 2) voltage support (power factor) needed by the industrial wind and solar farms in the desert. There is more to what meets the eye with the aggressive push by the usual suspects to cover our open spaces in the East County with these poorly sited RE projects. More wind and solar farms means more gas power plants. There is only one way to fight the destruction of our open spaces, and that is with roof top solar, conservation, energy efficiency and community owned energy districts. The fisrt thing that needs to be done is the City of Santee exempt residential scale PV installs from needing a building permit. Australia, Germany and the State of Vermont do not require a Building Permit to install PV.
