Sportsplex USA to Donate $1,440 to Santee School District Foundation

Press Release

On Monday, January 23, 2012 will make a donation to the Santee School District Foundation in the amount of $1,440.00. Sportsplex USA and the Santee School District Foundation (SSDF) have partnered with the goal of offering affordable youth indoor soccer programs to all parents and children in Santee.

operates San Diego’s Premier Sports facility located in the located at 9951 Riverwalk Drive, Santee 92071.  The park, , was financed by the City of Santee with the intention of providing the highest quality youth and adult sports programs for its residents and out of town visitors.

Sportsplex USA, which operates a , was selected to operate and maintain the facility.  Within one year of opening, the park is nearly with adult softball and adult indoor soccer leagues and a strong Mighty Mite (3-5yrs) youth soccer program.  In an effort to target more elementary and middle-school aged children, Sportsplex USA reached out to the Santee School District Foundation to seek a “win-win” collaboration.

The Santee School District Foundation is committed to growing recreational opportunities for the youth of Santee while also working to strengthen its fundraising efforts.  Sportsplex USA and the SSDF developed a partnership in September which would allow Sportsplex USA to promote the youth soccer program to the students in the Santee School District. As a result of their support, Sportsplex USA committed to donating $10 for every child registered in the new winter 2012 league.  After a successful registration period, 144 children signed up for the youth soccer program.

The recreational, coed league is designed for boys and girls age 5-12. The concept of the program is to provide all children equal playing time, regardless of skill.  Each team is coached by a volunteer and has one 1-hour practice per week and Saturday games.  Sportsplex USA has committed to make the same donation of $10 per child back to the SSDF for the duration of this program. Their goal is to double registration to 300 players by January 2013.  Sportsplex USA plans to offer a spring 2012 season scheduled to start on March 24, 2012.

On Monday, January 23 the SSDF will move from their normal meeting location at and . They will view a few youth soccer practices scheduled for that evening and be presented with a check for $1440.00 by Bill Berghoff, President of Sportsplex USA.

All media and interested parties are encouraged to attend.

this is why the battlefield has changed temporarily from the political arena to the Energy Arena.Read More Co Gen Tricks and the usual suspects are making their big money bet on two inevitable facts that will force the hand of the CPUC and CEC to place a new gas power plant somewhere in the area. 1) the Electric Vehicle Mandate. 2) voltage support (power factor) needed by the industrial wind and solar farms in the desert. There is more to what meets the eye with the aggressive push by the usual suspects to cover our open spaces in the East County with these poorly sited RE projects. More wind and solar farms means more gas power plants. There is only one way to fight the destruction of our open spaces, and that is with roof top solar, conservation, energy efficiency and community owned energy districts. The fisrt thing that needs to be done is the City of Santee exempt residential scale PV installs from needing a building permit. Australia, Germany and the State of Vermont do not require a Building Permit to install PV.
