A vegetation fire in the area of Iron Mountain Dr. along Highway 67 was quickly put out by firefighters Thursday afternoon, according to a fire dispatcher, and no damage or injuries were reported.
A Lakeside Fire Alert sent at 2:42 p.m. Thursday said the department is responding to vegetation fire on Highway 67 at Iron Mountain Dr. Units enroute with CalFire and Poway FD.
California Highway Patrol reported that Highway 67 was shut down to traffic between Poway Road and Scripps Poway Pkwy for a time due to smoke covering the roadway and fire apparatus in all lanes.
