4 Day Rainfall Totals: Santee Gets 2.17 Inches

Remnant showers from the storm were continuing to produce light rainfall today over and west of the mountains. Weather service meteorologists said the precipitation would end Monday morning.

Over a four-day period ending at 7:41 a.m., the National Weather Service recorded large amounts of rain:

  • 8.74 inches at Palomar Mountain
  • 5.08 inches in Julian
  • 4.74 inches in Oak Grove
  • 4.33 inches on Mount Laguna
  • 3.75 inches in Santa Ysabel
  • 3.68 inches in Descanso
  • 3.65 inches in Valley Center
  • 3.45 inches in Ramona
  • 3.02 inches in Alpine
  • 2.95 inches in Valley Center
  • 2.87 inches in Fallbrook
  • 2.48 inches in Escondido
  • 2.24 inches in Potrero
  • 2.17 inches in Santee
  • 1.96 inches in Campo
  • 1.87 inches in San Marcos
  • 1.48 inches in Santee
  • 1.72 inches in Poway
  • 1.71 inches in Rancho Bernardo
  • 1.26 inches in La Mesa.

Less than an inch fell over the same period of time in El Cajon, San Felipe, Agua Caliente Canebrake and Ocotillo Wells.

Generally, less rain fell along the coast:

  • 2.19 inches in Vista
  • 1.81 inches at the Carlsbad Airport
  • 1.80 inches at the Oceanside Airport
  • 1.67 inches at Brown Field
  • 1.65 inches at Lindbergh Field
  • 1.63 inches at Miramar
  • 1.50 inches at Montgomery Field
  • 1.22 inches in Del Mar
  • 1.13 inches in National City.

The showers also brought some rainy-day pile-ups on local roadways over the past few days.

From just after midnight to 9:45 p.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol logged 313 crashes on freeways and in unincorporated areas in San Diego County and Temecula.

CHP officials reported 514 accidents between 12:01 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday.

On a fair weather day, the CHP on average handles 50-75 crashes.
