Strong Winds Expected

The National Weather Service is warning that some of the strongest winds seen in the region since 2007 are expected in the next couple days.

NWS issued a wind advisory fro 10 p.m. Wed. to 2 p.m. Fri. The advisory suggests that winds as high as 35 m.p.h. could appear around the county that could be capable of downing trees and power lines, blow over unsecured objects outside and create hazards on the road.

The strongest gusts in Santee are predicted to come on Thursday and reach about 25 m.p.h. at times. Also on Thursday, there is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunder.

NWS is predicting that gusts as strong as 70 m.p.h. could be seen in the San Bernardino Mountains.

10 News is reporting that the gusts could be the strongest since the 2007 Santa Ana winds that caused major fires in the county.
