Rain

is headed for San Diego County. According to the
National Weather Service the second storm this week will arrive Wed.
afternoon and linger through Thu. morning. Between 4 and 10 p.m. there is an 80-90 chance of rain and possibly thunderstorms in Santee.

Homeless Vets

Between are either or in temporary shelters in San Diego County on any given night, according to a study released Wed.

The finding is consistent with past studies on the subject, according to the San Diego-based National University System Institute for Policy Research, which conducted the new study.

"San Diego is home to one of the largest veterans populations in the country," said Institute President Erik Bruvold in a statement. "Our report will hopefully increase awareness that we need to do more to find housing for these heroes and that too many are falling through the cracks."

The study also found that by 2020, there will be 16,000 post-Sept. 11 veterans being discharged from the military and making their homes in San Diego County.

Dating City

San Diego is one of the top 10 cities in the United States for dating, according to a list posted last week on the Yahoo! website.

San Diego was cited for its "endless-summer weather, buzzing beach culture, hip nightlife scene, and generous population of tanned, hard-bodied singles."

The article suggested that singles go swimming or surfing at the beach, and either stick around for a bonfire or experience the nightlife in the Gaslamp Quarter.

The cities were listed alphabetically, not ranked one through 10.
