Market Buys to Make Drinks at Home

Date Shake- is at every Santee Farmers Market because Andrea, who owns the date trees and the dates, also runs the market in Santee. Grab a bag of the you've ever eaten and try a delicious date shake when you get home:

Slice your dates finely, about a handful's worth. Blend them with a half cup of milk of your choice and three scoops of ice cream, preferably vanilla flavor. Serve in your favorite glass and top with whipped cream for extra enjoyment!

1 cherimoya
milk
ice-cream
sugar or honey

Mix ingredients together in a blender until smooth.

Tomato Jelly Bloody Mary- Jackie's Jams are amazing. I put them in my yogurt, on toast, glaze pork and other meat, and now make a drink with her tomato jelly, it's a bit thicker, but it adds some real taste and texture. This recipe is a take on the classic found here.

1 1/2 ounces vodka
1/4 cup tomato juice
1/4 cup tomato jelly (Jackie's Jams)
Worcestershire sauce to taste
Tabasco to taste
1 celery stick for garnish
1 lemon wedge for garnish
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
