Farmers Market Fresh: Spring is in the Air

Spring is here! The are exploding in a rainbow of color on this beautiful sunny afternoon in Santee. So many new fruits and vegetables were displayed today, we had to feature several. 

Petite and luscious purple Japanese eggplant freshly picked look gorgeous. The vine-ripened tomatoes are a bright burst of red along with a variety of colored heirlooms. 

The perfectly adorable baby carrots are already peeled and ready to eat or roast along-side the tiny green peppers in the next bin. 

Long, green and purple scallions and huge bunches of cilantro lined up against soft, plump avocados make me hungry for a large bowl of guacamole.

And, I've saved the best for last, OH the strawberries! These blushing beauties are bursting with the ever so sweet taste of the first days of spring. I couldn't help but bring home a basket.
