The second installment of property taxes is due April 10. Five county offices will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays to accommodate late filers.

Tickets for the Dalai Lama’s appearance at UC San Diego on April 18 were gone within hours, but Patch is conducting a photo contest that ends on Friday morning, with two tickets as the grand prize. The Tibetan spiritual leader will be talking about global warming, climate change and its effects on humans and the economy. Here’s how you can win the tickets: Take a photo of yourself incorporating environmentally conscious practices in your everyday life.
