Pets Get in on the Fun with Halloween Doggy Fest

A local service dog company is holding a fundraising doggy costume contest this weekend.

Halloween isn’t just for humans—pets can get in on the costume fun, too, this weekend in Santee.

takes place this Sunday in Santee. It includes games for both people and pooches, food, prizes, music and a DJ, a bounce house for the kiddos and of course, a doggy costume contest. A raffle with prizes will also take place.

Think your dog has a chance at taking first prize? There are three categories in the doggy contest: cutest, best theme and most original. Dress up Fido (or Fidette) in a creative costume and let the judging begin! If you don’t have your on furry friend to enter, fear not. This event is featuring a Labrador Rescuers adoption, so you can look into those brown eyes and take home a pet, if you so choose.

The Halloween Doggy Fest, put on by the Little Angels Service Dogs, happens this Sunday at from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is free, but there is a $20 fee to enter your pet in the costume contest. All funds raised will go directly to building a new and much needed kennel for the Little Angels Service Dogs, who trains and places assistance dogs with the disabled.
