Photos: Fitness, Martial Arts and Dancing at the Santee Health Fair

Local health care providers, martial arts and even bellydancing made an appearance at the Santee Health Network's (SHN) first annual health fair on Saturday.

Health professionals from chiropractors to personal trainers, yoga instructors and more were on hand to help Santee get healthier with information, advice, demonstrations and goodies.

Parents and other onlookers cheered demonstrations that were put on by students of the American Fortitude Martial Arts Academy and Expressions Dance and Movement Center (see photos of demos attached to this post).

In the last county survey, residents of Santee had the following:

21.6% higher than county average in heart disease

11.6% higher in strokes

17.2% higher in pulmonary disease

7.8% higher in arthritis

Poor diet  32%

Physically inactive  28%

Chronic disease  25%

Overweight or obese  63%
