Mayor and Councilman helped dedicate the new fenced off-leash area at , which opened to the public early this summer.
The was put on by dog owners that frequent the park that have formed a Facebook group, with help from the City of Santee. Barbecues were going full steam and and raffle prizes were sponsored by the local dog owners.
Booths were set up for , Canine Companions for Independence, and County of San Diego Dept. of Animal Services.
The dog park is open daily from dusk to dawn.
A few key rules for the dog park:
- No food
- Dogs must be licensed and have up-to-date vaccinations
- Owner must clean up after pet (bags are provided)
- Dogs must be prevented from biting or harassing any person or another animal
