Read a Book, Get a Burger

The Santee Library is handing out free In-N-Out to kids who love to read.

We’d all love our kids to read more books. The Santee Library has found a way to get kids on the reading train—through their stomachs!

The at the library is a way to encourage kids, ages 4-12, to read more books. Here’s how it works:

  1. Kids get a “Food for Thought” stamp card at the library
  2. The card gets stamped after reading a book
  3. After you’ve read the set of five books, you’ve earned a certificate for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at any In-N-Out location

That’s it! The card is kept safe at the library for your child and the limit is three gift certificates per child (resulting in 15 books read). Get your child reading and earn them some free lunch. Or better yet, have them read enough books to score yourself a free cheeseburger (because who doesn’t love In-N Out?).

The kids literacy program continues everyday through Nov. 19. Kids can get their cards stamped and pick up gift certificates any day the library is open at 1 p.m. Remember, Saturday, Nov. 19, is your child's last chance to score that free burger. Happy reading and happy eating!
