Submitted by The American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.  The Society provides support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our website www.cancer.org and toll free phone number 1.800.227.2345.

One aspect of cancer research is underway in our community right now.  The American Cancer Society is in the process of enrolling men and women across the US in the Cancer Prevention Study 3 (CPS 3), to help us better understand how lifestyle, genetics, and the environment affect cancer, and how we can better prevent the disease.  If you want to help by participating in this study, are between the ages of 30-65, and have never been diagnosed with cancer please visit: www.cps3sandiego.org
