Santee Lakes Trout Season Opener Draws Fishing Crowds
The trout season has ousted the catfish season, with prizes and plenty of fish to catch.
at the lasts from Nov. 6 to March 31. A total of 2,000 pounds of trout was stocked on Saturday, the opening day of the season. Trout up to 12 pounds will be stocked and re-stocked 10 times during the season. Opening day prizes will be awarded for the five largest fish of the day, and prizes for certain tagged fish are still available. Catch a trout five pounds or heavier and you'll be entered into a flat screen TV raffle.
