Submitted by Veterans United Foundation Scholarship Program
Ryan Boyle, who served in the U.S. Navy for four years and attends National University, was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from Veterans United Foundation Scholarship Program. The program is supported by Veterans United Foundation, and $50,000 has been awarded from the scholarship program since 2007.
The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship Program’s primary goal is to assist military service members and their families by awarding five bi-annual $2,000 scholarships. Boyle, from Santee, was one of five students nationwide to receive the round of awards.
Veterans United Foundation, the charitable arm of Veterans United Home Loans, is driven entirely by the company and its employees. Since starting the foundation Nov. 2011, the company and its employees have donated and pledged $6.2 million to meet its mission.
Boyle is pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in history. He was in the U.S. Navy from 2006 to 2010, and plans to earn his master’s in education and become a school principal.
The spring round of scholarship applications are due by April 30, and applications will be available online beginning March 15.
