Santee resident Steve Lauria, founder of the new Santee Health Network, is in the running for Building Better Health East County's 2012 Person of the Year.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions to Healthy People & Thriving Communities.

LaVonna Connelly was nominated for her dedication to the community and the El Cajon Healthy Food Initiative, which works to expand access to fresh produce and healthy food options.
Steve Lauria was nominated for starting the Santee Health Network, a group of wellness professionals that raises awareness of health issues and services.
