Accomplishment: Despite having been diagnosed with learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder, Shelton-Swann earns straight A’s and character awards at her school.

Her Key to Awesomeness: For Shelton-Swann, it’s all about perseverance. “She has always been in regular classes, and has worked very hard and put in the extra effort required to not only do the required work at her grade level, but she has managed to get straight A’s in all her subjects,” said proud mom, Janalee Shelton. “Madison is an amazing person, and I am so proud to be her mom. She is very dedicated to anything she tries.”

That dedication runs in the Shelton family. Shelton-Swann’s sister is , 2010. Shelton-Swann makes a lot of appearances with her big sister, making friends with local business owners, the mayor and members.

In addition to excelling at school, Shelton-Swann plays soccer, softball and basketball.

“She is aggressive and competitive, while at the same time a very compassionate and respectful person,” said Janalee. “Madison is very driven to be successful and when you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she will tell you she is going to be President of the United States.”
