Daily Dose: Kicking Off the Summer Concert Series

West Hills High School graduation and the first of Santee's Summer Concerts today.

• is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m. I can only assume the timing is meant to avoid the baking sun in the afternoon, but weather predictions suggest that patchy fog will still be sticking around at least for the start of the ceremony.

The parking lot will open for non-pass parking at 8:30 a.m. Parking will be available along the West Hills side of Mast Blvd. on a first come first serve basis.

The stadium will be open for seating at 7:15 a.m. Seating is first come first serve basis. Saving large amounts of seats is not allowed. Large parties should arrive together.

• San Diegans were warned by District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis Wedenesday about a scam targeting the elderly "in which an imposter poses as a grandchild in trouble in a foreign country and in need of cash."

Since the first of the year, the District Attorney's Victim Assistance Division has noticed an uptick in crime reports involving elderly citizens targeted by criminals using what is being termed the "Grandma Scam,'' Dumanis said.
