Skateboarders often have a tough time finding a place where they’re allowed to practice all their tricks. Now they can ride their skateboards in a permanent skate park built just for them.

A new skatepark opened in Lakeside this week. The park is located near the teen and recreation center in Lindo Lake Park at 12660 Lindo Lane.

Former professional skateboarder Kanten Russell from Action Sports Design/Stantec developed the park with ramps, rails and a skate bowl.

I walk my dog at the park every night and stopped by the skate park to watch a friend. I was there Saturday afternoon and it was packed. I would hope things calm down a little, as I was there I witnessed under age kids smoking and drinking beer' a fight broke out while I was there. this could be a good thing for lakeside if a few don't screw it up for the many that it could help.
