Santee Students Win GUHSD Jewelry Contest

A West Hills junior was able to design her own necklace and have it created.

Santee students dominated the 2011 district-wide Golden Artistry Jewelry Design Competition, with Ashley Charlton, a junior at taking first place.

involves GUHSD students designing a piece of  jewelry on paper, the design is then chosen and brought into reality by "Terry Whyte, La Mesa artist and Goldsmith, and owner of ," according to the contest website.

El Capitan student Cassandra Kingsbury took second place and Santana student team Scott Holcomb and Noraa Reeder took third.
