Santee's Best Weekend Picks

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

Is everyone gearing up for back to school? There’s clothes-shopping, lunch-packing, uniform-buying and supply-stocking to be done before your child’s first day back. Patch encourages you to take a break from the errand-running and slow down this weekend with some art and entertainment.

This weekend, from Aug. 26-28, Santee’s best bets include local entertainment, family festivals and an author meet and greet. If you’re ready to get out of town, El Cajon has a job fair to peruse and a free concert to take advantage of, La Mesa has an artsy fundraiser and Qualcomm Stadium is hosting a Soul Food Festival.

Whatever you do this weekend, take a breather. You deserve it.
