San Diego Citybeat recently posted a quick comparison of the two drive-in movie options in San Diego County and chose the South Bay Drive-In over Santee's as part of their Best of 2013 series.
The critic preferred the snack bar and amenities at the Santee Drive-In. But, Santee lost out in the end, with two screens, versus three at South Bay (leading to a better movie selection), and an $8 ticket price compared to $7 down south, and the critic liked the closeness to the ocean rather than Santee's mountain background.
