View Finder: Santee Wine and Bluegrass Festival

Live music, wine, beer, local food, great folks- good times.

The sound of bluegrass and fun wafted over on Saturday evening as the second delighted a huge crowd.

Local restaurants, wineries, local microbreweries and two bluegrass bands, Box Canyon and The Tail Draggers, entertained attendees, who paid $35 for tickets. 

The event was a Santee Parks and Recreation Department fundraiser to help residents attend programs they might not be able to otherwise, through their Voucher Incentive Program. More than 300 presale tickets were sold, more than the total number of attendees at , and the tickets kept on selling the day of the event. A silent auction with over 40 items also helped raise funds.

Santee eateries with booths and samples included with garlic-ginger fried sol, , and their classic pulled pork sliders, , , brought their food truck, , had some mighty tasty cake, offered a tender sampling of tri-tip, and Santee's up-and-coming was offering three varieties of beer.

All signs point to this event becoming a Santee standard, with even more people next year.
