Correction: Santee School District to Change Start/End Times for Consistency

This new schedule will begin Oct. 8.

Santee School District announced this week it is changing the times for school start and ending to be consistent across all the schools in the district. This new schedule will begin Oct. 8.

Here's part of what the district sent to parents:

The time your child spends learning with their teacher is very important. The Santee School District and the Santee Teachers Association have worked collaboratively to provide students throughout the District the same amount of learning time with their teachers.

In order to accomplish this, a new uniform instructional minutes schedule will begin on October 8. Schools will discontinue their scheduled modified days.

Although we realize changing school times once the year has started may be an imposition to some families, we believe all students having the same amount of learning time with their teacher, within their respective grade levels, benefits every child’s education.
