East County Magazine made the following announcement on Sept. 18, 2012:

Fire season is here — and you’re invited to a “Beer Bash Benefit” to support live reporting of wildfires and alerts during this wildfire season, which fire officials warn could be the most severe fire season ever.  El Cajon Brewing Company, Carrera Motors, Heartland Sustainable Housing and Viejas are teaming up to host a fun-filled  event on Wednesday, September 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the El Cajon Brewing Company.

The first 100 guests will receive a $10 gift certificate for free food or beer.  Admission is free.

El Cajon Brewery will be donating 15% of all proceeds from food and drinks to benefit the nonprofit East County Magazine’s wildfire reporting live from the fire scenes to enhance and augment the highly acclaimed Viejas Wildfire & Emergency Alerts, which are free to the public (you can sign up for free alerts at www.EastCountyMagazine.org).

The “Beer Bash Benefit” also includes beer-tasting, live music by Charlie Rae of Reverbnation (who has opened for Sheryl Crow  and other top singers), hot cars from Carrera Coachwerks, tons of prizes and surprises — all during the grand finale night of El Cajon’s Classic Cruises’ season finale.

Guests will also have a chance to win some fantastic prizes from Viejas/Grove Steakhouse, Main Street 5 Gallery, Fashion Exchange, Glamour Girlz, Fashion Exchange, Sara’s Fashion, Maxwell’s House of Books, Bradford Bruce wine collector, San Diego Zoo tickets, All Brand Motors, Pep Boys Lakeside, Visual Dreams Salon, Rubio’s Performing Arts, Kiwanis Club of East County, El Cajon Brewing Co., and more.
