Alcohol Notice Confirms Phil's BBQ Opening

A notice now on the old Original Roadhouse Grill building bears the name of the beloved BBQ joint.

A "Notice of Application to Sell Alcohol" in the name of Phil's BBQ of Santee recently appeared on what used to be the Original Roadhouse Grill building at Trolley Square in Santee, further evidence of their intention to open a new restaurant in town.

This weekend, a source close to the Santee business community and representatives of the restaurant, said that managers have already been hired and are in the training process, and that the restaurant is shooting to be open in six months.

How Exciting, I have never ate at Phil's BBQ but I have heard they have great food and service, something Roadhouse didn't have after 2 yrs of being open. Has anyone heard if Bills Buffalo is still opening where Hollywood Video use to be?

Phil's BBQ is awesome! Expect a wait. The one in Sports Arena always has a line wrapped around the building.

Yeah! Take that El Cajon! Glad Phil's chose Santee. Soon to be more great options including BWW and Chipoltles. Wonder what ever came of the talk city council was having about El Pollo Loco and/or In and Out coming? Nixed along with idea of another car wash I guess. santee.patch.com/articles/view-finder-new-buffalo-wild-wings-site

Just a thought: I hope these places do well enough to stick around and that Santee residents and the surrounding area, can give them out patronage. Supporting them = economic stimulus. What's up with Santee taste buds than we are able to support TWO Jack in the Boxes?!

I'm glad to see the old Roadhouse will no longer sit,empty...I would still rather have a Famous Dave's,but Phil's is the next best thing,as far as BBQ goes. I'm glad BWW chose a pad to build on,I think the old Hollywood Video would have been a weird fit. I am absolutely thrilled that Chipotle is going in to the old LaSalsa,I had been saying for some time that it would be a perfect fit for the space! I was really excited when I saw the beer & wine license posted & was able to notify Steven @ The Patch of my discovery! So glad...no more trips to Mission Valley for my Chipotle "fix" !
