It is confirmed that Beverages and More (BevMo!) will open a store in the in Santee's shopping center at 9755 Mission Gorge Rd.
The for the July 11 meeting indicates that the council will discuss and hear from the public on the issue of a Conditional Use Permit to allow the liquor store to operate in the city (see attached PDF). They will discuss and vote on the matter at the .
The agenda describes Beverages and More as "one of the largest alcoholic beverage retailers in the country with a wide selection of beer, wine, spirits, and associated complementary products, such as glassware, gifts and snacks."
The 9,502 sq. ft. that they would operate from recently became vacant along with the in the same complex that remains empty.
The Santee City staff recommends to the council a liquor store in that spot "would not negatively affect the public health, safety or welfare," and that they approve the conditional use permit.
There are already construction workers on site working to convert the store.
