Nothing like stacking Santee up with the finest and healthiest dining options available! Buffalo wild wings, Phil's BBQ, in-n-out, chick filet. How about a few more all you can scarf buffets too?

Glad to have them back! Despite what sheeple has to offer (nothing) - if businesses are opening new locations in Santee, then the economy must be improving enough to support them.

And they add to our tax base. Sheeple must be looking for a Souplantation to open here, believing it to be a healthier choice. He must not know that those muffins, rolls, butter and salad dressings are just as unhealthy as the greasy cowboy hamburger. Hope to see you all at the new places.

Glad I won't be seeing you there, Mary. Enjoy your cowboy burger! And all it's health benefits!

Id rather have a SMASHBURGER or UMAMI BURGER there, but oh well

I agree with Sheeple Herder, Santee should start offering more healthful options other than just fast food and junk staples. As much as I enjoy a greasy burger now and again, I'd also like the option of healthful, low calorie choices that consist of more than a cup of iceberg lettuce in some so-called dinner salad. If the federal, state and local governments keep telling us we're all overweight and have to change our eating habits, than why is it that every time a new eatery goes in, its always some fast food crap house? And no Mary, I don't eat at Souplantation, nor do I add dressing to my salad.

I agee with you Sheeple!!.. And the Mayor calls Santee the La Jolla of the East!! Haha.. You wouldn't find theses establishments there!!
Mary August 23, 2012 at 04:20 PM
Many of Santee's eateries have great salads to order. Even Home Town Buffet allows you to build your own. I am just glad to have all the different choices, once in a while I even stop at Dairy Queen or get a Frosty at Wendys. Everything in moderaton.

These fast food outlets hire mostly teenagers; a good training job. Sheeple Herder are you against that?

You don't like the unhealthy dining options don't eat there. Get on the newly expanded 52 and go to La Jolla. Do we need another fancy $10 burger joint? No, nothing wrong with Anny's at the end of the trolley line. It's awesome. I like the variety. Maybe you would have prefered another pizza joint or taco stand. . If you are looking for a place that serves a steak medallion on a piece of lettuce and drizzles sauce out of a squeeze bottle for $20, go west young man. I say bravo Santee, well done. Empty store fronts are and eyesore and make the town look run down

Correct don't go there if you don't like. Its good to see jobs coming to Santee.

It is so good for the Santee economy and even better for our tax base here in Santee so we can maintain our beautiful parks and sports fields, so we can work off all those wonerful calories. All this growth has really helped Santee to step out of the shadows and become the Jewell of east county. Bravo!!!!!!!!

I certainly hope that Boll Weevil returns to their glory days of great burgers and other food. The final year of the old Santee B.W. was terrible. The place was understaffed and the food quality was lousy.

my sources tell me that this Boll Weevil will be an all new experience. I hear they are doing away with the "cowboy" theme and going with an all new look. I also was told that they will be feturing San Diego craft beers on tap. 24 taps in all I believe. I cant wait to see the new and improved look. If you guys are still looking for a rootin tootin burger the lakeside Boll Weevil nails it.

I stopped in and the place was packed, food was great and came out fast. Tons of local draft choices, they have a taster glass for $2 so you can try diff kinds-porters, stouts, etc. There's a big board with all the alcohol %s which I thought was cool. This def isn't like other boll weevils. I'll be back for sure.
