According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are possible after 11 a.m., with a 90 percent liklihood of some precipitation. The high for the day is expected to reach only 62, with wind between 10 and 15 mph, with 25 mph gusts.

By nightfall, the chance of rain lowers to 70 percent, with cloud cover gradually moving in and a low of 46. Saturday will see sun again.

Gas Prices

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose two-tenths of a cent today for the second consecutive day.

The average price of $3.853 is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 3.1 cents higher than a month ago and 74 cents greater than at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

In the past six days, the price increased three times, decreased twice and was unchanged once.
