The new Santee location of Phil's BBQ restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on October 30 at Trolley Square. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by the opening of their doors at 11 a.m.
They have been reconstructing the space that once housed the Original Roadhouse Grill into 7,000 sq. feet of pure BBQ in a fast, casual dining atmosphere. Phil's keeps it simple with mesquite grilled baby back and beef ribs, chicken and sandwiches and always a line out the door. The Santee location is the third in the county.
This location will include twice as many beers on tap as their other restaurants and a separate bar designed for those waiting in line- and Phil's BBQ is known for lines out the door.
According to reports from the spring, they hope to serve 2,000 meals a day to a line of customers out the door.
