The Santee Chamber of Commerce and other locals helped kick off the grand opening of the new Santee Chick-fil-A restaurant Thursday morning, just hours after the first 100 people that camped out overnight were given certificates for "free meals for a year."
Santee Chick-fil-A operator Nathan Knecht said that Santee was on the top of the list of cities perfect for new franchises, in fact he said Chick-fil-A had its eyes on Santee for seven years.
