Santee Review Highlights Phil's BBQ Coming to Santee
New details emerge about the much anticipated restaurant opening, from the latest blog by the city.
The Santee Review, the City of Santee's blog, recently released a few new details about Phil's BBQ opening a new location currently in Santee. An opening date for the much-loved restaurant, recently named Best BBQ 2012 by San Diego Magazine, is scheduled for around October 2012.

- This location will include twice as many beers on tap and separate bar designed for those waiting in line- and Phil's BBQ is known for lines out the door.
- Though Phil's does little advertising (word of mouth does the trick), they will be wrapping a trolley car with an ad for the new location, conveniently placed right next to Santee's .
- An "expansion team" took three years to find the perfect East County spot for a new restaurant, with the new SR-52 expansion sealing the deal for Santee.
- The new spot is 7,000 sq. feet, and $2 million is being invested in reenovating the restaurant.
