Santee Wings-N-Things Opening Pushed to February

A representative of the Wings-N-Things under construction in Santee says plans to open have been pushed back to February.

The restaurant announced a location along Mission Gorge Road in late summer, and initially had hoped to open in November. New signs are up for the restaurant and the site is busy with activity. Rumors have it that the grand opening will be in early February.

A Wings-N-Things representative said the timing of the opening of the Santee restaurant depends on construction and permits. It's opening in the Marketplace at Santee shopping center (9300 block of Mission Gorge Road) at the old Roots Community Kitchen location.

In addition to chicken wings, they said homemade breadsticks and San Diego craft beers will be served. See the menu here.

Well; we know based on El Pollo Loco's fast turnaround, and that the location for Wings n Things was formerly a restaurant, that the delay is not due to a lack of permit inspectors. Hopefully this will be ready in time for superbowl!

Just heard the opening is now planned for mid February. No superbowl at Wings n Things this year.

I met Mike Sacco yesterday, the Vice President for Wings N' Things in our area. He told me that the Grand Opening is now being planned for February 7th, the weekend after the Super Bowl. Quite a few changes have been made inside the restaurant, and it has a "Now Hiring" banner in the window, as well.

This is not the first restaurant that said their opening has been delayed by waiting for the Santee permits.
