Santee's Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse to Relocate in Next Couple Years

A new announcement makes it clear that after 45 years, Pinnacle Peak will indeed be moving. They just don't know when.

Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse in Santee announced Monday that they will need to relocate the restaurant, but it might be up to two years before that happens. Until then, they'll be cutting off ties and serving up mesquite grilled steaks in their usual spot on Mission Gorge Road.

In August the City Council instructed staff to come up with a resolution for zoning changes for land that includes iconic Santee restaurants Pinnacle Peak and Omelette Factory, the first step in developing a housing project on the site.

The owner of the restaurant had previously said Pinnacle Peak would move if it came to it, and an email from the City Manager in August said the steakhouse would be relocating within Santee. The new announcement makes it clear that Pinnacle Peak will indeed be moving.

"It seems it’s time for Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse to mosey along and find a new homestead," the announcement read. "We are much obliged to the local folk for all their support over the years and we hope that wherever the wind blows us you tumble along as well. There is no timeline for the big move yet. It may be a year or two we’ll keep ya’ll posted."

The two restaurants have been on month-to-month leases and were informed about the proposed project months ago, according to the project applicant.
