Battle of Santee Sushi Restaurants Brewing

Takka Sushi and Tabu Sushi both put up banners announcing their opening, blocks away from Domo Sushi.

Two new sushi restaurants opening in Santee will make for three total in less than half a mile along Mission Gorge Road.

Santee Patch previously reported that Tabu Sushi put up a banner announcing their presence in the Sprouts shopping center, and it has come to light that another sushi joint, Takka Sushi, will be opening just down the road in the same building as the closed Jimanos Pizzeria.

Tabu, Takka and Domo Sushi restaurants will soon be in competition- they will inhabit three shopping centers in a row on the same side of Mission Gorge Road.

Takka Sushi, with two k's, is not to be confused with the well reviewed Taka Sushi in downtown San Diego. This spot seems to be unconnected to any other restaurants in the area.

The banner announcing Takka Sushi interstingly includes a 50 percent off tag, which reminds me of the 50 percent off sign in the front window of Domo Sushi. It just makes me wonder what's 50 percent off, and if everything is 50 percent off, isn't it just a gimmick?

No matter what sales Takka Sushi offers, they will have an uphill battle in this war of the sushi joints. They are situated right next to the new Pho Ca Dao Vietnamese restaurant and will be in a strip mall infamous for being difficult to access.
