• Construction has begun on the 5-story, 172-unit Parc One apartment complex at the RiverView complex at Town Center.

• Santee's Deputy City Manager Pedro Orso-Delgado told the Daily Transcript that a movie theater is still in the plans for further RiverView development in the future. From the Ryan Companies website: "Phase II of the project consists of a 22-acre mixed-use development featuring six office condo buildings totaling 63,504 square feet, 240 residential condos and a 10- to 12-screen movie theatre."

• High density housing has been proposed for county land across the river from Town Center.

• The environmental impact report is underway for the expansion of Walmart to a 180,339 square-foot Supercenter, a boost of about 50,000 sq. ft. The The expanded store would see the addition of fresh groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, a deli and a bakery.

• The Daily Transcript touches on Fanita Ranch, the 2,600-acre, possibly 1400-unit development that has been planned for decades, but has stalled for numerous reasons. Nothing new to report on what's described as Santee's biggest potential project. The developer told City Council in the spring: "I’m confident we will build Fanita Ranch. I just don’t know how long it will take."
