Another Cold Night Expected, Frost in Some Areas

Temperatures could drop into the mid to upper 20s in the coldest wind- sheltered areas.

Residents in San Diego County valleys are in for another cold night, with frost likely to develop in wind-sheltered areas, forecasters said.

"Where winds remain light, temperatures will fall to near freezing by Tuesday morning," according to the National Weather Service. The weather service issued a frost advisory set to go into effect at midnight and extend until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The frost could damage or kill sensitive plants and crops, and measures should be taken to protect them, according to the NWS.

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the low to mid-30s in many areas, and could drop into the mid to upper 20s in the coldest wind- sheltered areas, the advisory stated. Lows are expected to be between 26 to 36 degrees in the mountains, 37 to 45 in the deserts and 36 to 46 degrees along the coast.
