Daily Dose: Softball and Open House

Two Santee schools celebrate 50th anniversaries, County Supervisors oppose truck legislation and the Wolf Pack softball team goes to semifinals.

Sycamore Canyon Principal Debra Simpson said: “It would be a good time for anyone in the community to come back and visit and say, ‘Hello’ to people who have been here for a long time and see how we’ve grown and changed, but also to share some memories of the past 50 years,” said Sycamore Canyon Principal Debra Simpson.

Both schools invite students and their families, alumni and community members to visit. Attendees will be able to check out the modernized campuses and see pictures of the last five decades.

3. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted Wednesday to oppose legislation that would allow heavier trucks on America's roadways. The Safe Efficient Transportation Act, which has been introduced in Congress, would give states the option to allow trucks to carry up to 97,000 pounds of cargo if they added a sixth axle. The current limit is 80,000 pounds.
