Law Enforcement Job Fair Looking for a Few Good Women

• The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a women’s career fair today featuring job opportunities for the opening of the Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee in 2016. Candidates are encouraged to attend and apply for 170 available law enforcement jobs. The Women’s Career Exhibition will run from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Department main office, 9621 Ridgehaven Court in San Diego.

• The SD Animal Rescue takes in owner-relinquished and found stray animals and "foster parents" volunteer to take care of the dogs until adopted.The Santee-based volunteer organization has many cats — especially kittens — that can be viewed and picked up for adoptions at the Trolley Square PetSmart. Visitors can see the SD Animal Rescue's dogs ready for adoption on weekends between 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at PetSmart and talk to volunteers about adoptions.
