Route 67 Closures Nightly This Week

As part of the final push to get the freeway expansion completed, commuters will have to put up with another slate of Route 67 closures.

About a half-mile stretch of SR-67 near Santee will be shut down in both directions for the next five nights, Caltrans announced on Monday.

Beginning Tuesday night, the freeway will be closed between Prospect and Woodside avenues from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and will be closed the following four nights during the same hours.

Detour signs will be in place to help drivers navigate around the blocked-off section of the highway.

In addition to the closed lanes, the northbound onramp from Bradley Avenue, northbound offramp to Prospect Avenue and southbound onramp from Magnolia Avenue will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. each night, according to Caltrans.

This is one in a number of SR-67 closures due to work on the "" project, which is expanding and linking SR-52 and SR-67. This specific closure will allow road crews to repave portions of the highway and add striping and raised markers.
