, one of East County's premier neighborhood holiday light displays, sits a short walk from Santana High School in Santee.

First, to get there take Tomel Court off of North Magnolia Avenue to West Glendon Circle. See the light action 6-11 p.m. through Dec. 26.

Starlight Circle is a mash up of bright lights, colorful displays, lots of folks walking the streets and cars going in a slow line with faces stuck to the window.  There are a lot of brightly painted wooden mock ups of classic, and not-so-classic (Mario Bros. and Scoooby Doo) holiday characters in front lawns, something unique that I haven't seen much of in other light displays.

The light display tradition apparently started soon after the neighborhood was built in the early 1980s and has continued getting stronger since.
