Prescription Drug Take Back
Looking to get rid of any old or unwanted prescription drugs? Once again, The San Diego County Sheriff's Department will be collecting and safely disposing these items as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Sheriff's Deputies will be at the following locations to collect your old or unwanted prescription drugs:
Alpine Sheriff's Station
2751 Alpine Boulevard
Encinitas-Scripps Hospital
354 Santa Fe Drive
Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation
388 East Alvarado Street
Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation
845 Imperial Beach Boulevard
Lakeside-Walgreens Parking Lot
9728 Wintergarden Boulevard
Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station
3240 Main Street
Poway Sheriff's Station
13100 Bowron Road
Ramona-Albertson's Parking Lot
1459 Main Street
San Marcos-Kaiser Permanente
400 Craven Road
Santee-Walgreens Parking Lot
10512 Mission Gorge Road
The service is free and anonymous. No questions asked. Sharps or needles cannot be accepted at any drop-off location.
The Medical Examiner's Office 2012 Annual Report shows 269 deaths were related to prescription drugs last year compared to 267 in 2011, part of a disturbing trend seen over the last seven years.
