Survival Fire & Water Skills

Maintaining core body temperature and staying hydrated are two
fundamentals to survival. We will teach, demonstrate, and then all
practice:



  • - Bird-Nest Creation


    - Tinder Preparation


    - 1 Minute Fire with Ferrocerium Rod
  • - 15 Minute Water Boil


    - Bow Drill Fires


    - Flint & Steel


    - Making Char-Cloth for the next fire


    - Fire by Magnification (If clear that day)

 NOTE: To make the best use of this class it is recommended to bring:


  • Ferrocerium Rod
  • Knife- one for significant carving/bushcraft
  • Cotton Bandana or something you don't mind loosing
  • Magnification Glass (5x or better preferably)
  • Steel container with a cup, or a canteen with a cup


P.S. Should you wish to not pay to bring your car into the park you can park on Lake Canyon Road and walk into the park.
