Items up for auction include cameras, china, washers and dryers, cuckoo clocks, guitars and tools.

If you’re looking for a unique way to buy Christmas presents this year, the county of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency is supplying one this weekend.

A public auction will take place Saturday in Kearny Mesa, thanks to the Health and Human Services Agency public administrator/public guardian. Cameras, China, washers and dryers, cuckoo clocks, guitars, tools, dressers and more will be auctioned off.

Bids for the items start as low as $10, and customers are required to pay for and pick up their property by 2 p.m. the same day. The auction will contain about 500 lots and feature items from around 20 estates that are managed and administered by PA/PG. Proceeds made from the auctioned items will benefit those 20-some estates.

PA/PG investigates and administers the estates of persons who have not created a will before their death or who don’t have an appropriate person willing or able to act as their administrator, according to the County.
